7th ICECE meeting

Berlin, Germany
29 Nov – 1 Dec 1993

The Annual ADT conference in Berlin offered the basis for this ICECE meeting. Ten years of Innovation Centers in Germany were to be celebrated. A first evaluation of this experience with a special view on the use for Central and Eastern Europe was the main topic of the work. The development of the first innovation centers in Central and Eastern Europe was evaluated as being successful and promising, more intensive links between Eastern and Western centers nevertheless necessary. The many different national and international support programs for the promotion of new enterprises were analyzed to be not sufficiently coordinated (double activities) and not long term oriented. A coordination of national support programs from Western countries was considered being a very useful and important activity—a wish with not a great chance to become reality.
