15th SPICE Meeting 42nd ICECE Meeting
The annual PBICA in Kiekrz, Poland, November 17-19, 1999 was again well attended and offered new information and contacts. This time—just to give an example—a delegation from Kazakhstan attended the conference and provided much information about business development in their home country. This delegation prior to the conference also received a special training program in entrepreneurship support and business incubation. Following the conference this course was completed by a visiting program to Polish business incubators.
17 – 19 Nov 1999
The important personal news is that Krzysztof Zasiadly after ten years of presidency did not candidate again for the elections. But PBICA did not want to let him go. Krzysztof will continue to serve PBICA as a Board member and promised to support the association in the future as much as his many international assignments allow. The newly elected president of the Polish association is Jacek Gulinski. He is professor at the Faculty for chemistry at the Adam Mickievicz University in Poznan, one of the driving forces behind the Technology Park Poznan and well experienced in the international arena. Together with the SPICE congratulations for his new assignment he received the invitation to become a member of our network. At the anniversary conference Heinz Fiedler, President of the SPICE Group, was nominated Honorary Member of the Polish Business and Innovation Center Association (PBICA) because of his active engagement for developing business incubators and entrepreneurship in Poland.
