The re:publica Berlin offered the opportunity for bringing incubation experts from Africa to Berlin. Attending this event that developed since 2007 from a meeting of German bloggers to the world’s largest social media event with more than 5,000 attendees, guests from Africa joined for the 18th SPICE BÄR Dinner in Berlin on May 6, 2014: Yann Leboux, CTIC Dakar took the initiative and SPICE Berlin happily welcomed three representatives of AfriLabs at the Dinner: Tayo Akinyemi, Director of this African Network as well as Olewule Odetayo, Managing Director of Wennovation Hub, Nigeria. From the German side Larisa Brovarska, Heinz Fiedler, Rolf Friedrichsdorf, Karl-Heinz Klinger, Gerhard Raetz, and Uwe Seidel attended the lively discussion around new business incubation activities and business models around the planet.
The weather in Berlin allowed enjoying the beer garden Maria & Joseph outdoors under the old trees– at least for the beginning of the dinner. A few raindrops later made the assembly move inside to enjoy the atmosphere of a Bavarian country restaurant. New links in the network developed.
